March Empties

Seeing as I didn't do an empties last month, I have a fair amount this month. So the blog post should really be called February/March empties.

This month I tended to finish a lot of shower gels (which is great because my collection was bordering on obsessive) and face washes. Rather than chopping and changing products, I've been focusing on using the same things day in day out, which is a bit boring but it clears out my cupboards. And now I'm on a spending ban for the next two months, I hope to see my collection decrease a fair amount.

Ted Baker Body Butter // It smelt so gorgeous and left my skin feeling so soft.

 

Soap and Glory Perfume // Again, it smelt so good.

 

Sanctuary Face Wash // It felt like a spa treatment in a bottle, and lasted for ages.

Review | Batiste 'Paisley' Dry Shampoo

Batiste has fast become one of my favourite brands, from the products itself to the people behind the company who are behind their Twitter account. They are rapidly expanding and I'm pretty sure there is now a dry shampoo for everyone (although I can't wait to see what they bring out next!)

Batiste Paisley* is one of their newbies and has a fruity scent with a musky twist. The packaging and product itself are both inspired from the Hippy Chic catwalk trends and the gorgeous scent leaves your hair looking and smelling cleaner for longer.

I love having Batiste products on my shelf being displayed proudly as they always look so lovely - and they last such a long time as you only need a few sprays to get a cleaner look.

What is your favourite Batiste ever? I think this one is on par with Batiste Cherry.

Batiste's New Addition

You all know by now that I have a blog dedicated to saving money. One of the main ways to cut your household bills is by saving water and Batiste know just how to do that.

Batiste have launched their newest dry shampoo called 'cool & crisp fresh'* which I think is quite different to all of the others. Normally, their dry shampoos have a specific fragrance like Cherry (my favourite) but this one I can only describe as having a 'clean' smell.

Batiste is ideal for those 'in-between wash' days and you can use this to reduce the amount of water you use on washing your hair.

I am a big fan of Batiste and I always forget to mention that these bottles last a very long time!

Do you prefer clean dry shampoos like this one, or do you prefer yours to have a scent?

Batiste Cherry - It's Here!

Most of you may have read the exciting tweets from Batiste not too long ago, letting us know of their exciting new Batiste Cherry* dry shampoo that is their newest addition.

I must admit, as a huge fan of Batiste, I have never been more excited for one. I love fruity scents and cherry just sounded perfect.

The packaging is actually beautiful and looks so pretty on my shelf. I know some people don't really care about packaging and are more focused on the product, but for me, packaging needs to be good.

The scent itself is actually nowhere near as strong as I thought it would be. I was expecting a head full of cherries but it's actually not. It's sort of a perfect amount - not too strong that people think you've hidden a bag full of cherries in your barnet, but strong enough so you can actually smell it.

Batiste is available in Boots and many other stores, and cost just £2.99.

2011 Favourites

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Mine was amazing, I managed to see lots of people in two days as I was working Boxing Day and I got spoilt rotten! I'm going to do a post of some Christmas presents and a sales shopping haul (I didn't get much but I love what I did get). I've haven't done the posts yet as I haven't had any time to take photo's so for today I'll blog about my 2011 favourites (photos were taken a while back! #prepared). I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone, and what a year it's been!

Batiste Dry Shampoo.

I'm not sure if I first tried them this year or last, but they have certainly become a best friend of mine. As it takes me 2-3 hours to wash and blowdry my hair, I tend to avoid it until necessary (I'm smelly, I know). Batiste is amazing as it just helps me to look less like a tramp in the between wash days. MAC Studio Fix Fluid

MAC had never been a part of my life before blogging, and I am super pleased with how good this foundation is. It applies easily and lasts all day, even through a 9 hour work shift or a workout at the gym.

Topshop Lipstick in Pillow Talk

I reviewed this here, and if you read the post you'll know it is the perfect shade for me. It's currently my favourite but I've got a MAC lipstick wishlist (and I KNOW Mac Snob is under my Christmas tree right now) so you never know if it will move down in the ranks soon.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Ah, my trustworthy eyeshadow palette. It contains every colour I need, and I've had so much fun just playing around with it and trying new things. I've also heard there's a Naked Palette 2 coming soon? Exciting stuff, although I don't think I need it if I already have this.

Tresemme Smooth Memory Straightening Spray

I purchased this simply to boost up my Boots bill to £40 so I could get a discount and I'm so glad I did. This works so well on my hair and keeps it super straight for longer. I love it, and I prefer it to the John Frieda 3 Day Straight which is also great, but to me it's not as good. See my review here.

Batiste Go XXL!

As you can tell from my last post, I am a very big fan of Batiste dry shampoo, and I'm an even bigger fan of their new big bottles. So when Batiste offered me the chance to try their new XXL Volume Dry Shampoo, I couldn't resist.

The XXL Volume works in exactly the same as their other dry shampoo's, but obviously with added volume. I must admit, I was a little bit worried that it would either, a. not work, or b. turn my head into a beehive - something I didn't want.

I allowed my hair to go very greasy before using this, in order to see exactly how good it was. I didn't get a photo but my hair was extremely greasy, and flat - almost stuck to my head! (cringe) I sprayed this all over my head and then brushed it.

The results were fantastic! My hair immediately lifted and like all other Batiste Dry Shampoo's, it looked like I'd just washed it. It also gave it the boost it needed, plus a little more to make it look full of volume.

The only, only downside (and this is me being extremely picky), is that it wasn't too good for my fringe. It wouldn't go flat, which is my fault really, as I shouldn't spray XXL Volume on it if I want it flat...

Batiste Dry Shampoo

I am a big fan of dry shampoo. I am going to put it out there and say it - I only wash my hair once a week *watches the follower number go down*. The reason is, I don't need to wash it more than that, and it takes too long to do it all as my hair is one crazy wild thing and I hate doing it. Anyway, for this reason, I am a big fan of dry shampoo, it leaves my hair looking like I've just washed it, all the time.

I recently purchased Batiste Dry Shampoo in Floral and Flirty Blush. I wasn't too sure which scent to choose as there were quite a few but I went for this simply because it was pink! (I had to choose somehow!). The scent is gorgeous, I almost didn't need perfume.

I'm sure most of you know how great the dry shampoo is itself. It always leaves my hair looking and feeling clean and soft. I'm not sure if anyone else notices this, but my hair always feels amazing when I wash it. Normally, it's dry and 'ratty' but if I've used dry shampoo, it feels great and a lot easier to wash.

What's your favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo? And what one should I buy next? :)
